Voorpost is a right-wing extremist organization based in the Netherlands and Flanders .
Surname
The term voorpost is the Flemish and Dutch name for outpost .
Content
The irredentist orientated Voorpost is striving for a Greater Dutch nation-state . In this all Dutch-speaking areas of Europe are to be united. The group campaigned against Islam and mosques , the political left , drugs , pedophilia and zoophilia , among other things .
history
The group was founded in 1976 in Flanders by the right-wing nationalist politician Karel Dillen . It split off from the originally left-wing nationalist Volksunie . In 2005, Voorpost made a donation to right-wing extremist Siegfried Verbeke , a leader of the Holocaust-denying group Vrij Historisch Onderzoek . Voorpost and Vlaams Belang were involved in the founding of the Flemish branch of Pegida in 2015 . On January 26, 2015, a demonstration by Pegida Flanders in Antwerp was banned for security reasons.
