Villa Magda

description

The country house-like villa in the Swiss style is now a listed building . It is located on a large piece of land that extends as far as Paradiesstrasse .

The single-storey building stands on a basement , it has a knee-high floor and a flat, far overhanging gable roof , from whose verges and eaves hang wooden pegs in the typical Swiss style. In both eaves sides of the plastered building there is a two-storey risalit in the middle . The entrance through the risalit is arched, the window on the upper floor above is a coupling window .

All windows are framed by ornate sandstone walls, as well as roofs and decorations. The windows on the ground floor also show mirror fields with ornamental reliefs between pilasters . The facades are Sohlbankgesims and Geschossgesimse divided.

history

After the Serkowitz master builder Moritz Ziller had already built the small villa, he applied in 1872 to be allowed to build a stable building on the property. In 1905 the originally wooden balcony facing the garden was replaced by an iron, glazed veranda .

In 1939 the retired Major General Holm Eppendorff (1865–1947) lived there as the owner with his wife.
