The Wielimie (German Vilmsee ) is a body of water in the southeast of the Polish West Pomeranian Voivodeship . It belongs to the Dramburger Lake District (Pojezierze Drawskie) within the Pomeranian Lake District .

The Wielimie is located northeast of the district town of Szczecinek (Neustettin) in the area of Gmina Szczecinek between the two Polish state roads DK 11 (former German Reichsstraße 160 ) from Kołobrzeg (Kolberg) via Koszalin (Köslin) to Posen and on to Bytom ( Bytom ) in Upper Silesia , and the DK 20 (former Reichsstraße 158 ) from Stargard (Stargard in Pomerania) to Gdynia (Gdynia) . The lake is also embedded in the track triangle of the Szczecinek – Kołobrzeg and Piła – Ustka railway lines .

The villages of Gałowo (Galow) and Gwda Wielka (Groß Küdde) are located near the lake .

The Wielimie covers an area of 18.65 km². It is traversed by the Gwda (Küddow) , which rises near Porost (Porst) near Bobolice (Bublitz) and after the Wierzchowo (Virchowsee) now waters the Wielimie. After about a hundred kilometers it joins the nets .

The small river Nizica , which is only 2.5 kilometers long, also gives its water to the Wielimie.

The Vilmsee is a ground moraine lake that reaches a depth of up to 6 meters and is located at an altitude of 133 meters above sea level. Due to its location on the Pomeranian ridge , it got a strongly ragged shape and many small islands with a total area of 127 hectares. In 1778 the water level was lowered by 2-3 meters in order to gain 4000 acres of meadow land. In 1941 a fish hatchery was built on the Großer Werder . Until 1945 there was a lime works in Marcelin (Horngut) am See for processing the see lime.
