Vip mobile doo is a telecommunications company that operates cellular networks in Serbia . The company is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Telekom Austria , which is active in a total of eight countries in Central and Eastern Europe. In Serbia, Vip mobile competes with Telekom Srbija and Telenor (telephone company from Norway).

history

Vip mobile was founded by Boris Nemšić , the former general director of mobilkom austria AG . The company received the license on December 1, 2006 and started operations on July 9, 2007.

Until 2010, Vip mobile was run as a wholly-owned subsidiary of mobilkom austria AG . On July 8, 2010, mobilkom austria AG was merged with Telekom Austria TA AG . In the course of this merger, the non-Austrian subsidiaries of mobilkom austria AG were subordinated to Telekom Austria. That is why Vip mobile has been a wholly-owned subsidiary of Telekom Austria since 2010 .

According to its own information, the company had a market share of 20.5 percent in the 1st quarter of 2013, making it the third largest mobile communications provider in the Republic of Serbia.
