Virginijus Česnulevičius

Virginijus Česnulevičius (born November 17, 1956 in Kretinga , † April 7, 2008 in Vilnius ) was a Lithuanian politician, deputy minister and border guard, from 1990 to 1992 head of the Lithuanian Border Guard (VSAT), lieutenant colonel .

Life

After graduation in 1974 at the Kristijonas Donelaitis -Mittelschule Kybartai Česnulevičius studied at the Military Academy of the naval forces in Kaliningrad . In 1975 he served in the Soviet Army. He then worked as a car mechanic in Kaunas and studied at the Kauno politechnikos institutas . In 1982 he graduated from the University of the Interior Ministry in Minsk and worked at the Soviet-Lithuanian Interior Ministry in the search for criminals as chief inspector.

From June 1990, Česnulevičius was an honorary advisor in the Seimas Protection Commission . From October 1990 to 1992 he headed the border protection department at Krašto apsaugos departamentas (KAD) and later the border protection office of Lithuania, from 1991 deputy director of KAD (Deputy Minister of Defense of Lithuania ), deputy minister Audrius Butkevičius . December 1991 he was promoted to lieutenant colonel. From 1992 to 1993 he headed the Immunity Office ( Counter-Espionage Department ) at the Ministry of Defense of Lithuania . He then worked in the banks as a security specialist, in the administration of the Vilnius municipality , from 2003 as a senior lawyer in the Ministry of Defense. He taught at the Lietuvos karo akademija . In 2006 he graduated from the Mykolo Riomerio universitetas .

Česnulevičius was awarded the Vyčio Kryžiaus ordinas (Riterio kryžius).
