Virginio De Paoli (also Virginio Depaoli ; born June 22, 1938 in Certosa di Pavia , † August 24, 2009 in Brescia ) was an Italian football player and coach .

Career

De Paoli played at Brescia Calcio for most of his career . From 1966 to 1968 he was under contract with Juventus Turin , where he achieved the only major success of his career by winning the Italian championship in 1966/67 under coach Heriberto Herrera .

In 1966, De Paoli made three caps for Italy . He made his debut on June 18, 1966 in a 1-0 win against Austria , the striker played his last game for the Azzurri on November 26 of the same year in a 3-1 win against Romania , where he also scored his only goal in the national jersey.

Virginio De Paoli died on August 24th, 2009 after a long illness at the age of 71 in Brescia.
