Vitālijs Maksimenko (born December 8, 1990 in Riga ) is a Latvian football player .
Career
society
Vitalijs Maksimenko came to the youth department of FC Daugava Daugavpils at the age of 15 , where it went through all ages until 2007. In the 2008 season of the Virsliga he made his professional debut for FC Daugava. In August 2009 Maksimenko moved on loan to CSKA Moscow , where he was only used in the reserve team.
After his return from Russia, the contract with FC Daugava was terminated and he moved to the 14-time Latvian champions Skonto Riga on a free transfer . Maksimenko signed with Brighton & Hove Albion in January 2013 .
After several loans and a brief return to Latvia, he moved to the Austrian Bundesliga club SV Mattersburg in the summer of 2015 .
For the 2017/18 season he moved to Poland to Bruk-Bet Termalica Nieciecza in Nieciecza . The 2018/2019 season he played in Slovenia with NK Olimpija Ljubljana in Ljubljana .
At the beginning of 2020 he moved to Asia . Here he signed a contract with the Japanese club Ōmiya Ardija . The club from Saitama , a city in the south of the Saitama prefecture of the same name , played in the country's second division, the J2 League .
National team
He played for Latvia U-17 between 2006 and 2007. With the Latvian U-19 national team, he took part in the qualifying tournament of the U-19 European Football Championship in France.
