Vitacura is located on the northern edge of the metropolitan area of Santiago de Chile . The city is one of the better residential areas in the country. The residents have a higher income than the average of the residents of Chile. In the city there is the exclusive shopping street Avenida Alonso de Córdova . Vitacura and the neighboring town of Las Condes are home to some private elite schools.
