Vitali Janke (born December 23, 1976 in Temirtau , Kazakh SSR ) is a German - Kazakh ice hockey player who last played for REV Bremerhaven from the 2nd Bundesliga .

Career

Janke began his career in 1996 at EC Wilhelmshaven-Stickhausen , with whom he was active in the then second-highest German division, the 1st League North. A season later, the trained defender joined the league competitor EC Hannover Turtles . He stayed there for only a few months, however, and after 34 games he played for the Turtles, he moved back to EC Wilhelmshaven. At the EC he was able to develop into one of the top performers in the team, scoring 40 points in 49 games during the 1998/99 season . In summer 2001 he first signed a contract with Eisbären Regensburg before he was signed by Berlin Capitals during the 2001/02 season , with whom he ended up after a 3: 4 defeat in a best of seven series against Schwenninger Wild Wings was relegated to the 2nd Bundesliga.
