Vitovlje is a settlement on the Trnovsky plateau in the Nova Gorica municipality in western Slovenia , in the Goriška region . The settlement is located at an altitude of 245.6 m between the villages of Osek and Šempas.

Cultural monuments

The Church of Our Lady Assumption in Heaven (Slovene: Marijino Vnebovzetje) , built in the 14th century on a rocky hill (604 m), is a pilgrimage church and one of the most important cultural monuments in the region.

In the settlement there is a memorial to those who fell in the People's Liberation War (Yugoslavia) from 1941–1945 and a plaque at the place of the death of one of the heroes of the Soviet Union , Mehdi Hüseynzadə .
