Vladimír summer

Vladimír Sommer (born February 28, 1921 in Niedergeorgenthal , † September 8, 1997 in Prague ) was a Czech composer .

After training as a teacher at the Prague Conservatory, Sommer studied violin with Bedřich Voldan and composition with Karel Janeček, and until 1950 at the Academy of Performing Arts with Pavel Bořkovec . Here he worked for the future presidential candidate from 2013, Vladimír Franz, as a composition teacher, and later as a professor in the music department of the Philosophical Faculty of Charles University .

He composed three symphonies , an overture , a cello and a violin concerto , chamber music , choral works and occasionally also film music.
