The Vogelhalde Sindringen-Ohrnberg nature reserve is located in the area of ​​the towns of Forchtenberg and Öhringen in Hohenlohekreis in Baden-Württemberg.

Location and importance

The area extends along the Kocher between Sindringen in the northeast and Ohrnberg in the south. The state road L 1045 runs on the southeast and eastern edge of the area and the L 1050 on the northeast edge.

The protected area that exists today was created by ordinance of December 30, 1999 and has a size of around 216 ha. The protected area number is 1.238. At the same time, the ordinance issued by the Stuttgart Regional Council on the Vogelhalde Sindringen-Ohrnberg nature reserve of February 22, 1979 became invalid. It is a " floodplain and near-natural hillside forests with heron colony on the steep slopes of the Kocher valley."
