The Vogelsberg is 598 m above sea level. NN a mountain in the Vogelsberg low mountain range of the same name in the Feldatal municipality in the Vogelsbergkreis , Central Hesse .
It is located between Köddingen in the north, Ulrichstein in the southwest and Helpershain in the northeast.
There is a legend about a blacksmith who promised his soul to the devil. With a trick in which his wife disguised herself as a bird, he was able to outsmart the devil. It is unclear whether the name of this mountain is derived from that of the Vogelsberg Mountains.
