Bailiwick of Eckwarden
The Vogtei Eckwarden was an administrative unit belonging to Oldenburg . It existed until 1811.
scope
The Bailiwick of Eckwarden is bounded in the west and south by the Jade Bay . In the east lies the Bailiwick Stollhamm and in the northwest the Bailiwick Burhave . The Vogtei consisted of several parishes : Eckwarden with the peasant communities Eckwarden, Sinswürden, Hofwürden, Mundahn Eckwarder Altendeich, Prie, Hammerich, Großwürden and Hayenschloot. Also the parish of Tossens with the farming communities of Tossens, Stick, Tossenser Groden and Tossenser Altendeich. A part of the parish of Langwarden was also part of the Vogtei Eckwarden with the farming communities of Düke, Ruhwarden, Süllwarden, Seeverns and Mengershausen.

In 1809 there were the following professions in the bailiwick of Eckwarden: 14 Kruger , seven merchants , nine tailors , four bakers , four blacksmiths , ten shoemakers , four cooper , nine bricklayers , a tin beater, a painter, two weavers, a brewer and two carpenters . There were two windmills in 1796 , one south of Klein-Tossens and one west of Eckwarden.
Infrastructure
Eckwarden and Tossens were church locations, and there was also a school here.
