Volcano High is a martial arts film with fantasy influences from South Korea .
action
The film tells the story of Kim Kyeung-su, who has been expelled from various schools nine times. Reasons for this included vandalism and hitting a school principal. Kim arrives at Volcano High and bursts into the middle of a feud between students and teachers who all want to get their hands on the "Secret Script". When the principal is poisoned at some point, Song Hak-rim, the school's best fighter, is locked away and the Kendō team (whose director Kim fell in love with) asks for his help, but he refuses. The deputy director later hires a few new "teachers" who use great force to counter any rule violation. When the leader, weight lifter Jang Ryang, is tormented by these teachers, it is enough for Kim and he stops hiding and duels with the teachers. In the end, he exposes the deputy director who claimed to own the secret writing by destroying the box it is said to be in.
criticism
“Fantasy film developed in the style of manga with solid computer tricks and borrowings from current western film successes. The effect-laden martial arts fairy tale keeps the balance between slapstick elements and action and convinces with a good portion of self-irony. "
