Volkmar Böhlau

Volkmar Böhlau (born January 27, 1917 in Nockwitz , Delitzsch office ; † August 23, 1999 in Bad Soden am Taunus ) was a German doctor . The main areas of his work were internal medicine and gerontology .

Life

Böhlau studied medicine and received his doctorate at the University of Leipzig in 1944 . He was a doctor for the GDR Olympic team for twelve years . In 1954 he received his habilitation at the University of Leipzig. After moving to the Federal Republic of Germany , from 1958 he was an adjunct professor of internal medicine at the University of Frankfurt am Main and director of the Max Citizens Institute for Aging Medicine in Bad Soden am Taunus. He was also the head doctor of the Taunus sanatorium of the Württemberg State Insurance Institute .

Volkmar Böhlau was married to the doctor Eva Böhlau born in 1945. Dittmar (1921-2016), with whom he published several books on inhalation treatment. They had a son.
