Arndt Volkmar Winkler (born April 10, 1959 in Dornreichenbach , municipality Lossatal ) is a German politician and member of the state parliament in Saxony ( SPD ).

Life and work

Winkler left the school in 1975 after the 10th grade and did a three-year professional training with high school diploma as a gardener for fruit growing. From 1980 to 1988 he worked in the LPG fruit production Dürrweitzschen and also completed a degree at the Humboldt University in Berlin , which he graduated in 1986 as a horticultural engineer. During his mayor's office he qualified at the Administration and Business Academy as a graduate in administrative business administration and law.

Party and electoral offices

Winkler joined the SPD in 1990 and founded the local association Ablaß . From 2008 to 2016 he was deputy chairman of the local SPD association in Döllnitztal. Since 2014 he has been chairman of the SPD district association in Northern Saxony.

He had already been elected mayor of Ablaß in 1989, was elected mayor of Sornzig-Ablaß in 1993 through a change in the municipality and finally in 2011 after a further change in the municipality and merger as mayor of Mügeln . He has been a member of the district council in the district of North Saxony since 1998.

In the state elections in 2014 , he missed direct entry into the Saxon state parliament with 13.1% of the first votes , but entered the state parliament via 13th place on the SPD state list. Winkler was deputy parliamentary group leader of the SPD and a member of the committee for the environment and agriculture there until 2019. In the 2019 state election , he initially missed entry into the Saxon state parliament on list position 12, but moved back to the state parliament in January 2020 after Dagmar Neukirch waived his mandate as a result of her appointment as state secretary.
