Dürrweitzschen is a village in the Leipzig district in Saxony . Politically, the place has belonged to Grimma since 2011 . It is located on the S 36 state road between Ragewitz and Zschoppach .

history

Dürrweitzschen was documented for the first time in 1342 as "Wizcen". Further mentions were:

On January 1, 1967 Motterwitz was incorporated into Dürrweitzschen. On March 1, 1994, the then independent municipalities of Böhlen, Dürrweitzschen, Leipnitz, Ragewitz and Zschoppach merged to form the municipality of Thümmlitzwalde . This in turn was incorporated into the city of Grimma on January 1, 2011, which means that Dürrweitzschen has been part of the municipality since then.
