history

In the western district of Nauberg there is a ring wall (Alte Schanze). Numerous finds show that it was built in the 9th or 10th century. In the area of the castle there was a chapel.

In 1228, the Burgrave of Leisnig confirmed the purchase of eight hooves in Nuenburch from the Lords of Mildenstein by the Buch monastery . Mgf sold in 1286. Heinrich gave the monastery the upper and lower courts in Nuemburc . At the same time, Bgf. Otto von Wettin on the third pfennig at the court, which he was entitled to as Burgrave of Döben. In 1300 the bishop of Meissen sold the farmers of Nauberg the tithe of a hoof for their pastor (von Zschoppach) so that he could hold a solemn mass in their chapel three times a week. In 1333 the Buch monastery acquired further rights in Nauberg. In 1359 the monastery bought another tithe in Nauberg from the burgraves of Leisnig. In 1383 Thimo von Colditz transferred the fiefdom of Nickel Staupitz in Nauberg to the monastery.

In 1548, the Buch zu Nauberg monastery inheritance book names "17 possessed men, including 9 horse men, who are all loanable and interestable to the Buch monastery" with 31½ hooves. The higher court and the court of inheritance were at the office of Buch monastery.

Nauberg had its own chapel, probably the above-mentioned chapel in the ring wall. After the Reformation, the inhabitants were sent to Zschoppach and Elector August had instructed the bailiff von Colditz to ensure that the farmers should return any property they might have taken to the chapel.

With the incorporation into Zschoppach, which came into effect on July 1, 1950, the place lost its independence. On March 1, 1994, the then independent municipalities of Böhlen, Dürrweitzschen, Leipnitz, Ragewitz and Zschoppach merged to form the municipality of Thümmlitzwalde . This in turn was incorporated into Grimma on January 1, 2011, making Nauberg its part of the community ever since.
