“It belongs in writing to the Böhlen manor , has 57 residents over 10 years, who have 55 cows, 7 horses and 4  hooves . Also a manorial. You meet sheep here. "

In 1886 the historically significant workers' settlement "Cameroon" of the Golzern paper mill was built in Bahren.

In 1955 a dormitory was built in the village for the apprentices of the paper mill, and the first occupancy took place on October 15th. On January 1, 1957, the departments of practical training, theoretical training and apprentice dormitory were merged to form a company vocational school (BBS).
