Poischwitz is a village in the Leipzig district in Saxony . Politically, the place has belonged to Grimma since 2011 . It lies between Draschwitz and Nauberg .

In a document, Poischwitz was first mentioned in 1421 as "Poschewicz". Further mentions were:

On April 1, 1937 Poischwitz was incorporated into Zschoppach. On March 1, 1994, the then independent municipalities of Böhlen, Dürrweitzschen, Leipnitz, Ragewitz and Zschoppach merged to form the municipality of Thümmlitzwalde . This in turn was incorporated into Grimma on January 1, 2011, making Poischwitz a part of the municipality since then.
