Göttwitz is a village in the Leipzig district in Saxony . Politically, the place has belonged to Grimma since 2012 . It is located on the S 38 state road between Mutzschen and Wermsdorf .
Göttwitz was first mentioned in a document in 1028 as "Chotiza". Further mentions were:
