Schaddel is a village in the Leipzig district in Saxony . Politically, the place has belonged to Grimma since the beginning of 2011 . It is on the B107 between Colditz and Grimma.
Schaddel was first mentioned in a document in 1297 as "Schadolawe". Further mentions were:
- 1300: Schadelowe
- 1306: Theodericus dictus de Schadelo

The existence of the Schaddelmühle has been documented since 1525, and in 1991 the Schaddelmühle cultural development association was founded with its seat in the mill. The buildings were badly affected by the floods in 2002 and 2013 .
