Seat of the bank from 1926 to 1971

On January 17, 1925, the Vereinsbank für Butzbach und Umgegend eGmbH was founded by 17 members. Business operations began at Eiff on Griedeler Str. The first board member was Wilhelm Ratz, who was a board member for over 40 years.

In 1926, Mitteldeutsche Creditbank closed its branch in Butzbach. The head of this branch was taken over to the board of the Vereinsbank for Butzbach and the surrounding area. The number of members grew to 176. From September 1926 the bank was located in the former Marktplatz 3. In 1927 it took over the savings and loan association Griedel. 1930 The accounting system is converted to machine accounting for the first time. The onset of the German banking crisis is having an impact on balance sheet figures. In 1934 the "Savings and Loan Fund Ostheim" merged, and in 1935 the Advance and Credit Fund Oberkleen and the Ebersgönser Savings and Loan Association were merged into the Butzbacher Vereinsbank. In 1939, the economic upturn allowed the bank's total assets to grow by 100% to 2.9 million Reichsmarks . In 1943 it was merged with Volksbank Butzbach eGmbH. The new bank is renamed Vereinsbank Butzbach eGmbH. In 1948 the currency was changed to Deutsche Mark . After the conversion in a ratio of 10: 1, the balance sheet total on June 21, 1948 was exactly DM 877,683. With the currency reform, orderly currency and economic conditions have returned. The bank now has 829 members. In 1954, the bank acquired Marktplatz 3, where business had been running since 1926. For the first time, customers were offered a night safe system. In 1968 the bank bought the property at Weiseler Str. 48 -Forsthaus- in order to create a contemporary bank building here. The accounting was switched to punch cards . In 1970 the savings and loan funds in Fauerbach, Maibach, Münster and Münzenberg merged with LBAG Butzbach. The cash hours continued in the premises of the former savings and loan funds. Another office was opened in Ober-Hörgern. On March 6, 1971, the new building at Weiseler Strasse 48 was inaugurated. Over 4,000 visitors came to the " Open House ". The old building on the market square was sold. In 1972 the Mozartstrasse branch in Butzbach was opened and the Munzenberg branch relocated to the new bank pavilion, Steinbergstrasse 15. In 1975 the bank celebrated the 50th anniversary of Vereinsbank Butzbach eG. The bank changes its name to Volksbank Butzbach eG in order to clearly emphasize its affiliation to the large organization of Raiffeisen and Volksbanks. In the same year she took over the money business of the Raiffeisenkasse Langenhain / Ziegenberg. The bank now had 2,500 members and for the first time had total assets of over DM 50 million. In 1982 the Fauerbach office was relocated to the new office at Hauptstrasse 43. In 1983, the Langenhain / Ziegenberg office was redesigned and expanded. Volksbank Butzbach eG opened its business premises for the first time in its history on New Year's Day to issue the starter packages for the introduction of the euro. In 2004 Volksbank Butzbach merged with Volksbank Gambach eG. In 2006 a customer service center was created. The bank's branch network was modernized and streamlined at the same time in 2007 with the opening of the new branch “between” Kirch-Göns and Pohl-Göns.

2009 merged with Weiseler Volksbank eG. The new energy-efficient premises of the main office in Butzbach, Weiseler Straße were presented to the public after a ten-month renovation phase with an open house on Sunday, February 13th, 2011. 2013: The number of members grew to 8,256.
