Due to inflation, Leipziger Gewerbebank eGmbH found itself in a crisis. In 1933 the business was merged with Leipziger Mittelstandsbank eGmbH and shortly afterwards it was completely absorbed into it.

After a long time in the war economy, the Volksbank Leipzig was able to run its business in a peace economy again from December 12, 1945.

Between 1947 and 1990 there were numerous name changes and mergers due to the political framework, until on June 1, 1990 the name “Volksbank Leipzig eG” could be re-entered in the cooperative register.
