The Volksbank eG Nordmünsterland was to Tecklenburger to its formal adoption by the People's Bank country and change of name to VR-Bank district of Steinfurt , a German cooperative bank based in Rheine in Steinfurt . The market area extended over the cities of Rheine, Mesum , Emsdetten , Neuenkirchen and Steinfurt . Owners were the approximately 29,839 members. The bank recently had around 321 employees in its 23 branches and looked after around 67,000 private and corporate customers. Their balance sheet total was around 1,161 million euros.
Volksbank Nordmünsterland eG existed since 2000, as a result of the merger of Volksbank Steinfurt-Emsdetten eG and Volksbank Rheine eG. The then newly merged bank was initially called Volksbank Nordmünsterland-Mitte eG and was only renamed Volksbank Nordmünsterland eG in 2003. The roots go back to the year 1884, in which the Mesumer Spar- und Kreditverein eG was founded. The official founding year of the bank goes back to the year 1898 in which Volksbank Emsdetten eG was founded through various mergers and mergers.
On June 5, 2013, the meeting of representatives of Volksbank Tecklenburger Land decided on the formal takeover of Volksbank Nordmünsterland.
Volksbank Nordmünsterland eG was embedded in the cooperative financial network. It belonged to the Federal Association of German Volksbanks and Raiffeisenbanks e. V. BVR based in Berlin and the Rheinisch-Westfälischer Genossenschaftsverband e. V. RWGV based in Münster.
