The Volksbank eG, Seesen is a cooperative bank based in the Lower Saxon town Seesen in the district of Goslar . Its business area extends over the regions of Alfeld (Leine) , Bad Gandersheim , Bockenem , Einbeck , Langelsheim , Leinebergland and Seesen with their surrounding villages in the districts of Goslar , Hildesheim , Holzminden and Northeim .
history
Volksbank Seesen was founded in Seesen in 1863 as an advance payment association by Emil Schott and 31 craftsmen and traders. The entry in the cooperative register was made in 1878. After the merger with Handels- und Gewerbebank eGmbH in 1932, the bank traded under the name “Bankverein Seesen eGmbH”, in 1939 it was renamed “Volksbank Seesen eGmbH”, and in 1975 it was renamed “Volksbank Seesen eG”. In the following years the Volksbank Seesen merged with the Volksbank Kreiensen eG (1971), with the savings and loan bank eG Seesen-Herrhausen (1978), with the Volksbanken Bockenem eG (1987), Langelsheim eG (1998) and Alfeld eG (1999 ), with Volksbank-Raiffeisenbank eG Bad Gandersheim-Harriehausen-Bornhausen (2001), 2014 with Volksbank Einbeck eG and 2018 with Volks- und Raiffeisenbank eG Leinebergland. The main office building on Jacobsonstrasse in Seesen was rebuilt in 1983.

Furthermore, people in need of help should be supported. In the field of youth welfare, the foundation promotes support for education and upbringing.
