A People's Police Readiness ( VPB for short ), also VP Readiness , were part of the barracked units of the Ministry of the Interior . In the Ministry of the Interior (MdI) of the GDR they were subordinate to the Deputy Minister for Readiness / Combat Groups. Within the armed organs of the GDR they belonged to the territorial area of ​​the national defense of the GDR. There is often confusion with the VP readiness of the Barracked People's Police , the military forerunner organization of the land forces of the National People's Army .

Armament and equipment
