Volleyball Champions League 2007/08 (women)

The 2007/08 season of the Volleyball Champions League began on November 27, 2007 with the group phase and ended with the final on April 6, 2008. 20 teams from twelve nations took part in the competition. Colussi Sirio Perugia from Italy won the competition.

Balance sheet

German teams were not involved. Austria was represented by Post Schwechat , Switzerland by VBC Voléro Zurich .

Post Schwechat could not win a set in group E and was eliminated as bottom of the table after the preliminary round.

VBC Voléro Zurich only lost to Novara in Group C and finished second behind the Italians. In the first play-off round, the Swiss prevailed with two wins against Cannes. In the second play-off round they met Novara again and were eliminated despite a win in the second leg.

Group stage

At the drawing, the qualified teams were divided into five groups of four participants each. The two best teams in each group and two thirds reached the play-offs .

Play-off

In addition to the host CAV Murcia 2005 , three teams qualified for the Final Four. These teams were determined in two play-off rounds with a return leg. The games took place on December 12-14. and 20th / 21st February or 4th / 5th and 12./13. March 2008.

Final Four

At the Final Four on April 5th and 6th in Murcia , the hosts, who were appointed by the CEV after the group matches were over, played against the three teams qualified in the play-offs. Colussi Perugia defeated VK Saretschje Odinzowo in the final and Asystel Novara won the game for third place against the hosts.
