The Von Ardenne GmbH (proper spelling: VON ARDENNE ) is a German engineering company based in Dresden . The family develops and manufactures equipment for industrial vacuum coating, among others, glass , wafers and plastic film . It is a world market leader , particularly in plant construction for large-scale architectural glass coating and thin film photovoltaics .
history
The Von Ardenne Anlagentechnik GmbH was founded in 1991 from the German scientist and inventor Manfred von Ardenne founded Dresdner Research Institute Manfred von Ardenne spun off and in 2013 Von Ardenne GmbH renamed.
Structure, memberships and products
Von Ardenne GmbH is 100 percent owned by the von Ardenne family. The group has subsidiaries in China , Japan , Malaysia , Vietnam and the United States . Von Ardenne GmbH is u. a. Member of the Federal Association of Medium-Sized Enterprises and the Saxon State Foundation for Nature and Environment .
The managing director is Pia von Ardenne-Lichtenberg.
The company is a world market leader in plant construction for large-scale architectural glass coating and thin film photovoltaics and large-scale electron beam guns for melting furnaces.
The company is active in five business areas, of which the architectural glass and photovoltaics business areas together accounted for around 72% of the 2014 annual turnover of 201.6 million euros. The main sales market is Asia; the export quota was around 96% in 2014.
