Normal way from the Bratschenkopfscharte over the northwest ridge (not difficult )

The front viola head is 3401  m above sea level. A. high mountain peaks of the Glockner group in the state of Salzburg . It was first climbed on September 18, 1869 by Karl Hofmann and Johann Stüdl with Thomas Groder and Joseph Schnell over the southeast ridge.

location

The Vordere Bratschenkopf is located in the Fuscher / Kapruner Kamm in the north of the Glockner Group in the core zone of the Hohe Tauern National Park . The mountain peak is located in the municipality of Fusch an der Großglocknerstrasse and has a short south ridge and a long south-east ridge, on which the eastern pre-peak ( 3394  m above sea level ) and the easternmost pre-peak ( 3353  m above sea level ) are located. The northeast ridge leads to the Bratschenkopfscharte ( 3383  m above sea level ), which separates the front from the rear Bratschenkopf ( 3413  m above sea level ). To the east lies the Klockerin ( 3422  m above sea level ). Southwest of the Near Viola head extends the Bratschenkopfkees , northeast the Teufelsmühlkees . The closest valley is the Ferleitental of the Fuscher Ache to the east .

Promotion opportunities

The normal route to the Vorderen Bratschenkopf starts in the Bratschenkopfscharte. This can be reached from the north from the Heinrich-Schwaiger-Haus over the Wielingerscharte ( 3265  m above sea level ) by crossing the Kaindlkees or Teufelsmühlkees or from the southeast from the Schwarzenberghütte over the Teufelsmühlkees. From the Bratschenkopfscharte the easy ascent leads over the northwest ridge to the summit. Alternative variants exist, for example, with the north ascent from the Wielingerscharte, the south-east ascent over the two pre-summits ( II ) or the south ridge ( III + ).
