The Vouge is a river in France that runs in the Côte-d'Or department in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region . It rises in the municipality of Vougeot , generally drains in a south-easterly direction and flows into the Saône as a right tributary after 33 kilometers at the municipal boundary of Esbarres and Saint-Usage . The Vieille Vouge watercourse branches off just before the mouth, initially runs parallel to the Saône and also flows into the river at two points after around three and five kilometers. The Saône has been expanded here for shipping and the two tributaries serve to supply the straightened river loops with water.
