Vuokko Kekäläinen

Vuokko Kekäläinen (born February 11, around 1960 in Juankoski , Finland ) is a Finnish opera singer ( alto / mezzo-soprano ).

Life

She received her vocal training in Kuopio and at the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow. Then Vuokko Kekäläinen continued his vocal studies at the Peter Cornelius Conservatory in Mainz . She was shaped by internationally renowned singing teachers, including a. Nina Sergejewna Isakowa , Gladys Kuchta-Paasch and Jan Tamaru .

From 1997 to 2003 she was a permanent ensemble member (soloist) at the United City Theaters of Krefeld and Mönchengladbach . There she sang roles in her field a. a. Azucena (Il Trovatore) , Orfeo (Orfeo ed Euridice) , Queen Elisabeth (Maria-Stuart) , Mary (Der Fliegende Holländer) , Lisaweta Jepantschina in the world premiere of the opera Der Idiot (February 18, 2001; composer Thomas Blomenkamp ). The artist was then a member of the Augsburg Theater ensemble until 2007 . In addition, Vuokko Kekäläinen made guest appearances on the music stages of various cities in Germany .

In 2009 the artist was an opera choir singer with solo roles at the Freiburg Theater . In the 2010/2011 season she moved to the Nordhausen Theater , where she a. a. sang the Zita in Gianni Schicchi . From September 1st 2011 she is engaged at Theater Bielefeld (Larina in Eugen Onegin ).

In addition to her stage presence, Vuokko Kekäläinen is also active as a lieder, oratorio and concert singer. She had song and concert engagements not only in Germany, but also in Switzerland , Turkey , Finland and Russia . Numerous radio recordings with HR , BR and NDR .
