Wálter Aguerre (born March 13, 1941 ) is a former Uruguayan football player .

The central defensive player Aguerre belonged from 1958 to 1963 and again in 1967 to the squad Peñarols in the Primera División , which was supervised in those years by the coaches Hugo Bagnulo , Roberto Scarone , Bela Guttman and Roque Máspoli . In 1958, 1959, 1960, 1961, 1962 and 1967 he won six national championship titles with the Aurinegros . Also in 1960 and in 1961 he secured his club the trophy in his time yet as Copa Campeones de América designated Copa Libertadores . Aguerre was used in both finals against Paraguay's representative Club Olimpia in 1960 . Also in the finals of the following year against Palmeiras São Paulo , he completed both games. Another title win in 1961 is the victory in the World Cup , to which Aguerre contributed through his participation in the first, second and play-off against Benfica Lisbon . He also played in the lost games of this competition the year before, but had to admit defeat with his teammates Real Madrid . 1962 was for Peñarol again to participate in the finals of the Copa Campeones de América , in which the Uruguayan club but this time had to give the Brazilian representative FC Santos the trophy. Aguerre was not used in any of the three finals.
