history

In the 15th century the ownership of Wangeritz was divided into three parts. One share belonged to the Counts of Eberstein-Naugard , one share from the noble Knuth family and the third share from the noble Lentz family . The latter part was bought in 1445 by a Henning Mildenitz from the noble Mildenitz family. Later all the shares came to the noble Edling family .

In Ludwig Wilhelm Brüggemann's detailed description of the current state of the Royal Prussian Duchy of Western and Western Pomerania (1784), Wangeritz is listed among the aristocratic estates of the Saatziger district. At that time in Wangeritz there was an arable factory ( Vorwerk ), a water and cutting mill, seven full-time farmers, one half-farmer position, a schoolmaster and a forge, a total of 21 households (“fire places”). There was also a church in Wangeritz, which had been attached to the church in Kicker since 1778 . At that time, Wangeritz belonged as a fief to Chamberlain Aegidius Carl Bernhard von Edling.

After the Edling family died out, Wangeritz passed to Major General Heinrich Wilhelm von Lettow in 1791 and then stayed for a long time in the noble Lettow-Vorbeck family .

Around 1870 the manor ( manor district ) and the church village ( rural community ) existed side by side in Wangeritz . The manor comprised 2556 acres and belonged to Captain Carl Wilhelm von Lettow. A field mark of 908 acres belonged to the church village. Rittergut and Kirchdorf Wangeritz had a total of 257 inhabitants.

Later the manor district was incorporated into the rural community. Before 1945 Wangeritz was a rural community in the Naugard district of the Pomeranian province . The community had 234 inhabitants in 1933 and 195 inhabitants in 1939. In addition to Wangeritz itself, the Wangeritz Mühle residential area belonged to the community .
