WET is a melodic rock - supergroup that of Jeff Scott Soto , Erik Mårtensson and Robert Säll was founded. The band name is made up of the first letters of the groups with which the musicians had previously worked: Work of Art (Säll), Eclipse (Mårtensson) and Talisman (Soto).

Jeff Scott Soto is an American musician who first gained international fame in the 1980s as the singer of guitarist Yngwie Malmsteen . Soto also worked with Axel Rudi Pell , Fergie Frederiksen and the Trans-Siberian Orchestra during his career . From 1990 he was the singer of the group Talisman , with whom he released seven studio albums, until the band split up in 2007. Soto has released ten solo albums since 1994 .

Erik Mårtensson is guitarist and singer of the Stockholm- based Swedish melodic rock band Eclipse , which was founded in 1999. With the group he has released four internationally distributed albums.

The guitarist and keyboardist Robert Säll belongs to the Swedish group Work of Art , which was originally founded in 1992 and initially dissolved in 1995. After the re-establishment in 1998, the group's first album, Artwork , was released in 2007 . In 2011 the album In Progress followed , 2014 Framework .

Work of Art as well as Eclipse and Soto have released their albums on Frontiers Records . The record company approached Säll and Mårtensson in 2008 and asked them to write six songs each for a joint album with Jeff Scott Soto. While the songs of the debut album WET , released in 2009, were still created without Soto's participation, the songs of the second studio album, Rise Up , which was released in 2013, were written together.

Both albums received positive reviews from the music press, with WET being part of the 2009 album list compiled by Rocks magazine . The group recorded on January 17, 2013, before the release of the album Rise Up, the only second appearance in the band's history for a live album, which was released in February 2014.
