William Keith Chambers Guthrie

William Keith Chambers Guthrie (born August 1, 1906 in London , † May 17, 1981 in Cambridge ) was a Scottish classical scholar .

Guthrie was at Dulwich College and at Trinity College of the University of Cambridge trained, where he graduated 1928th He became Laurence Professor of Ancient Philosophy at Cambridge. From 1957 to 1972 he was there Masters of Downing College . Since 1952 he was a member ( fellow ) of the British Academy .

His most famous work is his History of Greek Philosophy in six volumes.
