WFUV ( The Alternative) in a public radio station in New York City . The Fordham University station broadcasts a non-commercial program from the studios on the Bronx campus for the city of New York. The transmitter is close to the Montefiore Medical Center .

WFUV went into operation in 1947. Veterans of the New York radio scene such as Dennis Elsas , Vin Scelsa and Pete Fornatale work for the station . The program is based on the radio format Adult-Album-Alternative . The Whole Wide World is broadcast daily by music director Rita Houston, a mix of funk and jazz , enriched with musician interviews and live studio sessions.

WFUV broadcasts on HD radio . The FUW All Music program is transmitted on the HD2 channel .
