WSP Group plc , also active in Germany as WSP Deutschland AG , is a Canadian company that operates worldwide and offers engineering and consulting services. It is traded on the London Stock Exchange and was temporarily listed in the FTSE 250 index .
On June 7, 2012, Genivar Inc. announced that it would kindly take over WSP for the equivalent of € 354 million . The offer is supported by WSP's Board of Directors ; the takeover was completed on August 1, 2012.
history
The company was founded in 1969 by Chris Cole and three other partners as the William Sale Partnership . It has been traded on the London Stock Exchange since 1987. The company has expanded worldwide since the 1990s: WSP Asia was founded in 1995, and the US engineering companies Cantor Seinuk and Flack + Kurtz were taken over in 2000 . In 2001 WSP merged with the Swedish Jacobson & Widmark (J&W) and in 2003 took over the Finnish engineering companies LT Consultants OY and EMP Projects OY and in 2005 the PHB Group in the United Arab Emirates .
In 2007 WSP took over the Australian construction services and environmental engineering consultancy Lincolnne Scott and LC Consulting from South Africa ; also CEL International from the United Kingdom and the German CBP Consulting Engineers . WSP increased its presence in the USA with the takeover of the engineering offices SEi and Sells .

WSP Germany
WSP Germany emerged from the structural planning office CBP, which was founded in 1955 by Karl Cronauer and August Burkei in Munich . The office increasingly offered further engineering services, including technical building extension , surveying , civil engineering services and project management . With the expansion of the corporate divisions, additional locations were opened throughout Germany. Shortly before the merger with WSP, CBP had around 400 employees at seven locations in Germany. With the merger, the German branches of WSP were also merged with CBP. From 2008 to the end of 2011, the company operated in Germany as WSP CBP, before the merger with the company was also reflected in the German name WSP Deutschland AG . The seat is in Munich .
