The Wadi Degla Open 2016 took place from October 31 to November 4, 2016 at the Wadi Degla Club in Cairo , Egypt . The women's squash tournament was part of the women's PSA World Tour 2016/17 and belonged to the PSA 50 category . At the same time, the men's World Championship was held in the facility .
The field of participants in the women's competition consisted of 16 players, four of which were starting places for qualifiers. Per Wildcard received Amina Yousry a spot in the main draw.
At the tournament, the following prize money and world ranking points were paid out or credited for reaching the respective round. Players who entered the main field from qualification received the specified qualification points in addition to those for reaching the respective round. Otherwise the amounts are not to be understood as cumulative. The total prize pool was $ 50,000.
