Vadim Michailowitsch Pappé

Wadim Michailowitsch Pappé ( Russian : Вади́м Миха́йлович Па́ппе́, Vadim Michajlović Pappé ; born April 17, 1942 ) is a Russian art historian and encyclopedia author .

Life

Pappé's family comes from Alsace . Wadim Pappé grew up in a Moscow family of actors, graduated from the Moscow Art Theater Schkola-Studia MChAT as a set designer , worked in the MChAT museum. From 1976 Vadim Pappe was the department head at the publishing house Great Soviet Encyclopedia , which was later renamed Great Russian Encyclopedia.

Wadim Pappé is the author of several hundred articles on architecture , painting and choreography , on artists of international standing, ballet dancers, theater and film actors, on European cities, theaters and theater festivals that are listed in the encyclopedias “Ballet”, “Russian Ballet”, “ Russian Drama ”,“ Great Russian Encyclopedia ”,“ Encyclopedic Dictionary of Films ”and others, as well as have appeared in newspapers and magazines. Vadim Pappe is also the editor of articles on theater, cinema and architecture in the Great Soviet Encyclopedia and Great Russian Encyclopedia, as well as the author of numerous photographs for the articles in these publications.

Wadim Pappé is the author of the book "2500 choreographic premieres of the 20th century: 1990–1945" ("2500 хореографических премьер XX века, 1900–1945: энциклопедический словарь, Moscow, 2008"; Dekulakov-Verlag, Moscow.

Wadim Pappé left work on June 28, 2012 but did not return home. His whereabouts since then are uncertain.
