Election of the Parliament of the German-speaking Community in 2009
The election of the Parliament of the German Community in 2009 was held on June 7 in 2009. The members of the legislature of the German-speaking Community of Belgium were elected for the legislative period 2009–2014. The Christian Social Party (CSP), the Socialist Party (SP), the Party for Freedom and Progress (PFF), ProDG , Ecolo and Vivant stood for election .
A total of 45,945 people were eligible to vote in the election, of which 37,962 cast valid votes. These were distributed among the individual parties as follows:

The ProDG party ran for the first time in 2009, but can be regarded as the unofficial successor party of the party of German-speaking Belgians (PDB), which disbanded on November 14, 2009 and in the 2004 parliamentary elections 11.69% of the PJU / PDB list Votes and 3 seats.
Finally, the SP, PFF and ProDG came together to form a three-party coalition, which sent the following ministers to the government of the German-speaking community :
- Karl-Heinz Lambertz (SP): Prime Minister, Minister for Local Authorities
- Harald Mollers (ProDG): Minister for Family, Health and Social Affairs
- Oliver Paasch (ProDG): Minister for Education, Training and Employment
- Isabelle Weykmans (PFF): Minister for Culture, Media and Tourism
