The constituency Aue I was a state electoral district for the state election in Saxony in 1990 , the first state election after the re-establishment of the state of Saxony. Its constituency number was 71.

The constituency comprised the following towns and communities in the Aue district : Affalter , Albernau , Aue , Bernsbach , Bockau , Lauter / Sa. , Lößnitz and Zwönitz .

For the 1994 state elections , the constituency structure was changed as a result of the district reform, and the number of constituencies was reduced from 80 to 60. The area of ​​the constituency Aue I was divided into three constituencies. The city of Zwönitz was assigned to the constituency of Stollberg . The towns of Albernau, Aue and Bockau became part of the Westerzgebirge 1 constituency . Affalter, Bernsbach, Lauter and Lößnitz became part of the Westerzgebirge 2 constituency .
