The constituency no. 3 ( Polish okręg wyborczy nr 3 ) is since 2011 existing constituency for the election of the Senate of the Republic of Poland and was based on the wyborczy Kodeks of January 5, 2011 (Journal of Laws 2011 nr 21 poz. 112) built. The area of ​​constituency no.3 was until then part of constituency no.1 . The first election that took place in the constituency was the general election on October 9, 2011 .

According to Annex No. 2 ( Załącznik nr 2 ) of the code wyborczy in the last announcement of February 22, 2019 (Dz.U. 2019 poz. 684), the constituency includes the independent city of Legnica and the powiate Głogowski , Legnicki , Lubiński and Polkowicki the Lower Silesia ( Województwo dolnośląskie ) .

The seat of the constituency commission is Legnica.

Parliamentary election 2011

The election took place on October 9, 2011.

None of the incumbent senators of the former constituency No. 1 ran for election in the new constituency No. 3: Tomasz Misiak , a member of the Senate since 2005, ran for the KWW Rafał Dutkiewicz in constituency No. 6 , but missed the move. Swakoń Jacek , a senator in his first term, ran again for the Sejm, to which he was a member from 1997 to 2001, this time for KW Polska Jest Najważniejsza in constituency No. 1 , but was unable to win a seat. Also Witold Idczak (KW Prawo i Sprawiedliwość) applied for a mandate for the Sejm in the same constituency as Jacek, but remained equally unsuccessful.

Dorota Czudowska, a doctor and member of the Voivodeship Committee of Lower Silesia since 2006, only just won 301 more votes (0.2 percentage points) against the theater director Jacek Głomb. For Czudowska, after her tenure as senator in the fourth electoral period (1997–2001) , it was her second term.

Dorota Czudowska defended her mandate against Piotr Borys, Member of the European Parliament in the 7th parliamentary term (2009–2014), and Ireneusz Pasis, unionist in Lubin. It is her third term in office.
