List of constituencies for the Senate of the Republic of Poland
The list of constituencies for the Senate of the Republic of Poland gives an overview of the distribution and numbering of the constituencies ( Polish : Okręgi wyborcze ) for the election to the Senate of the Republic of Poland since 2011. The current constituency was created by changing from multi-person constituencies to single-person constituencies from 2001 to 2011 existing constituencies . The constituency division was first used in the parliamentary elections on October 9, 2011 .
Legal basis
The constituencies for the Senate of the Republic of Poland are based on Articles 260 and 261 of the wyborczy Code of January 5, 2011 in the current version.
The constituencies for the Senate of the Republic of Poland, the number of which is fixed at 100, comprise either an entire voivodeship or part of it. The constituencies may not violate the boundaries of the territorial constituencies for the Sejm of the Republic of Poland or the Powiats ; Cities with more than 500,000 inhabitants can be divided into one or more constituencies. The layout of an electoral district is based on the number of residents living in it: ideally, this should be one hundredth of the total population, but may not deviate from this by more than 50% downwards and not more than 100% upwards. For the 2011 parliamentary elections in Poland, according to the Państwowa Komisja Wyborcza ( National Electoral Commission ), the hundredth part of the total population on October 9, 2011 was 377,483, the lower limit was 188,742 and the upper limit 754,966. The exact layout of the constituencies can be found in Appendix No. 2 ( Załącznik nr 2 ) of the Codek wyborczy .
Polish citizens whose place of residence is outside the country belong to constituency No. 44 .
