The powiat Gostyński is a powiat (district) in the south of the Polish Greater Poland Voivodeship . The administrative seat is in the district town of Gostyń . The neighboring powiat are in the north of the Powiat Śremski , in the northeast of the Powiat Jarociński , in the east of the Powiat Krotoszyński , in the south Powiat Rawicki , in the west Powiat Leszczyński and in the northwest of the Powiat Kościański .

A partnership with the Unterallgäu district has existed since November 21, 2001 .

Tourist destinations are:

  • The most visited place by tourists is the Holy Mountain (Święta Góra). There is a church and a monastery of the Oratory of St. Philip Neri . The basilica was built from 1675 to 1728. The church is famous for the cult of the miraculous painting of the Mother of God with the baby Jesus, which was given to the church in 1542. Estimates speak of 100,000 pilgrims from all over Poland annually.
  • The oldest monument is the parish church of St. Margaret, built between 1418 and 1468.
