The powiat Turecki is a powiat (district) in the Polish Voivodeship of Greater Poland . The powiat has an area of ​​929.4 km², on which about 84,000 people live. The population density is 90 inhabitants / km² (2019).

Surname

The Polish name of the powiat is derived from the name of the city of Turek. Otherwise the Polish word turecki means Turkish in German . The city of Turek is named after the Ur (Polish Tur ), a wild cattle that died out in the 17th century .
