The powiat Prudnicki is a powiat (district) in the Polish Opole Voivodeship with the district town of Prudnik (Neustadt OS) . The powiat has an area of ​​571.16 km², on which around 56,000 people live.

geography

The powiat is located in the south of the Opole Voivodeship, on the Czech border. Neighboring districts are Nysa in the west and north , Opole and Krapkowice in the north, Kędzierzyn-Koźle in the east and Głubczyce and the Czech Okres Bruntál in the south .

cities and communes

The powiat comprises four municipalities, including three urban-and-rural municipalities , whose main towns of the same name have municipal rights, and one rural municipality . The municipalities of Biała and Głogówek have been officially bilingual since 2006 by virtue of a municipal council resolution, as the German population in these municipalities is over 20 percent.
