The powiat Ostrołęcki is a powiat (district) in the Polish Masovian Voivodeship . The powiat has an area of 2099.32 km², on which 83,768 inhabitants live. The population density is 40 inhabitants per 1 km² (2004).

history

From 1939 to 1945 the area was part of the new administrative district of Zichenau in the province of East Prussia as the district of Scharfenwiese . The district seat was in Ostrołęka ( German Ostrolenka , 1941–1945 Scharfenwiese ).

Communities

The powiat comprises eleven parishes, including one urban-and-rural parish and ten rural parishes . - The seat is in the independent city Ostrołęka .
