The Łobez County is a powiat (county) in the northwestern Polish West Pomeranian Voivodeship , in terms of population of the smallest of the province. The district was established on January 1, 2002 .
After the Polish territorial reform in 1999, there were strong protests by the population in Łobez against the new district structure, which also resulted in a blockade of the Berlin – Gdansk railway line and led to the city becoming the seat of a district again.
